I think one thing that guns are good for is that if someone tries to rob you, you can defend yourself. Though, guns can also be a bad thing because as long as it isn't found you can just waltz into a room and kill someone. They are good for self defense, but if you aren't careful, you can kill someone.
No I don't think it is fair for soldiers to forcibly move into your home, because if they were followed, they could bring the enemy to your home and get everyone killed. It's your home if you don't want soldiers in your home you shouldn't have to let soldiers live there.
Police can enter your home if you are accused of breaking the law, because then they can have a search warrant for it. Like if you were accused of stealing something, the police can get a search warrant to look for the stolen item. If they found it they can get an arrest warrant and get you arrested.
