The state government has to look after it's people by requiring vaccinations for kids, supplying licences for hunting, fishing, and driving, requiring restaurants to follow certain health rules, starting law enforcement, and finally holding mayoral elections.
Three things that the states share with the federal government are the right to tax people, pass laws, and punish criminals.
a. Issue a teaching license to someone who has applied and has met all the requirements
This one is the job of the state because each state has it's own requirements for teachers.
b. Make a treaty with a foreign country
It is the federal government's job for this one because only the president or someone appointed by the president can sign treaty's.
c. Set health codes for restaurants
This is the state because each state might have different expectations for health codes.
d. Issue a marriage license
Again the state's job because the state government can decide whether or not people can marry, the federal system shouldn't be bothered for something this small.
e. Declare war
This is the federal systems job because only the leader of any one country has the right to declare war.

5th-8th Amendment
Witness: A witness is someone who was at the seen of the crime and saw what was going on.
Indict: To indict someone is to charge them with something in court.
Testify: To Testify is to present a form of evidence that is taken from a witness to declare facts.
Grand Jury: A Grand Jury is a group of people who decide if there is enough evidence for a trial. They also decide if a crime deserves a capital punishment.
Due Process: Due Process means that the court must respect the accused persons legal rights.
Capital Punishment: Capital punishment is when the crime is punishable by death.
Excessive: Excessive means way more than enough.
Bail: bail is the money you pay to be out of prison until the day of the trial
Peer: A peer is someone in the jury that decide the cases outcome.
I think that everyone should be allowed the same rights. All the rights of court make sure that everyone, no matter what they did, have a fair trial. If people weren't allowed certain rights, than not every trial will go smoothly. Like if the accused was not allowed a lawyer or an attorney than they might be able to go through the trial as easily. Or if you could be tried twice for crime and found guilty both times, than that means twice as much bail for prison or any other punishments. And if they didn't have a speedy trial than they might have to wait for several years just to get their trial over with.

2nd-4th amendment
I think one thing that guns are good for is that if someone tries to rob you, you can defend yourself. Though, guns can also be a bad thing because as long as it isn't found you can just waltz into a room and kill someone. They are good for self defense, but if you aren't careful, you can kill someone.
No I don't think it is fair for soldiers to forcibly move into your home, because if they were followed, they could bring the enemy to your home and get everyone killed. It's your home if you don't want soldiers in your home you shouldn't have to let soldiers live there.
Police can enter your home if you are accused of breaking the law, because then they can have a search warrant for it. Like if you were accused of stealing something, the police can get a search warrant to look for the stolen item. If they found it they can get an arrest warrant and get you arrested.

1st amendment
- I think numbers 1, Give a speech before a large gathering of people and express opinions about the president's abilities,
- 4, Write a letter for the editorial page of a newspaper in which you criticize a state legislator,
- 7, Circulate a petition calling for the repeal of an unpopular law, and
- 8, Post your opinion on your blog about an issue being discussed at a local school board meeting, are protected by the first amendment.
- The four I chose mainly focus on opinions, and The first amendment deals with the freedom of speech, press, and religion. It is important because if their wasn't the first amendment employers would be able to force their employees to go to a specific religious activity. People could write or print whatever they wanted to anyone just for kicks, even if it gets them fired. Also it would allow people to write to the president saying the would attack him and the government couldn't do anything about it. So if the first amendment wasn't in effect, we would have a lot more presidents and a lot more Lincoln incidents.
